About This Campsite

Barry Downs Caravan Park

Welcome to Barry Downs Caravan Park, a haven offering a mix of tranquility and community spirit, located at an undisclosed address in a charming locale. Despite varied reviews, the park presents an intriguing experience with its unique blend of amenities and surrounding activities.

Highlights and Considerations

  • Community Ambiance: The park has a welcoming atmosphere with residents and guests often partaking in local events. A standout feature is the Wee Cook Kitchen, a highly praised restaurant known for its excellent food and lively atmosphere, providing a nice retreat within the caravan park.
  • Park Regulations: Guests should be aware of certain rules in place, such as restrictions on children playing near facilities, and guidelines around washing and water usage. These rules are clearly posted, which some visitors might find a bit restrictive.
  • Facilities and Services: While the park is described as well-maintained, some elements like the shower and toilet blocks might feel dated. Facilities handle the basics well, though some guests noted the need for long power leads for certain pitches.
  • Entertainment and Activities: Post-pandemic, some amenities like evening entertainment have reportedly diminished. The club on-site was mentioned as having declined in vibrancy, with limited weekend activities available now.
  • Security Considerations: Visitors are advised to be vigilant with their valuables, especially when leaving vehicles unattended for local excursions.

Most of residents are pikeys, a lot of them scope your motor out if parking it here to go to Wee Cook for a pie so leave valuables out of site in your motor!

It's OK. Well maintained and the showers and toilets are fine. You do need a really long power lead for some pitches. There is an abundance of rules like Children can't play near the shower block. You can't hang washing outside of your camper. You can't take hot water from the showers to your caravan. That sort of thing. They have signs up saying so. It is expensive too, at £30 a night. Sept 2023 we felt it wasn't great value for money. It's cash only as well and we did get a proper receipt for £30.

Pitch and facilities OK could be better. Club has definitely went downhill from what it was pre covid. No Entertainment at weekend and no bingo on a nighttime at weekends Persons keeping more than one seat for thereselves and partners. Why!!! as it was obvious they were not for anyone else. Found club cliquey Won't be back as out of town and nothing to do anymore on a night. Shower and toilet block getting dated
