Secluded beach with a great view of the sea and city. Pretty small car park but not a problem as there aren't many people. There are lots of WW2 pill boxes and tank traps, so it's definitely fun to explore with kids or just to pick up some shells :).

A lovely part of the east coast series of beaches north of Aberdeen which is usually quieter than the others because of a lack of much parking at Blackdog , when down onto the beach it stretches north for 10 miles to Newburgh and is a delight to walk on even on a blustery January afternoon like our visit though the rainbow was a highlight

Lovely long beach but not easily accessible if you have any disabilities or are elderly. There are lots of high dunes between the car park and the beach, which are very steep. The car park is also rather small and as a lot of dog walkers seem to use it, there is a risk it may have no parking room. If you are fit and able it is worth the walk, otherwise go to neighbouring Bemeadie which has easy access.

Amazing beach, stretches for miles. Very quiet and peaceful, great when the tide goes out there's lots of shells and stones brought up. Many interesting tank traps and stone buildings. Small car park but not usually busy. You'll have to be fit enough to climb up and down the sand dunes to get there.

This is a beautiful beach with fantastic views along the bay. Parking is quite limited though so might be tricky at weekends etc Access to the beach is also not the greatest, we had to cross some stepping stones over a burn or you can go over the dunes.
