We spent one night here and we made a good choice. Check in is at 3 but if you get to the area a little early there’s a car park near the dam and a nice walk to pass the time until you go to the hut. Once you decide to check in you are met by the owner and given information you will need to access your hut. Opening the door to the hut you are met with a very well thought out space. You can purchase a bag of logs to burn in the fire pit, sit with a glass of wine and just listen to the sounds of nature and the crackle of the fire. A very nice place to stay and would stay there again for sure.

Booked for a 2 night camping stay, got a friendly welcome from the owner and instantly felt at peace!! Good sized pitches! Very peaceful with an almost waterside location, lots of rules in place from the campsite owners which we felt was justified and ensured that all campers were respectful of each other, Within 15 minutes of arrival deemed as one of our favourite campsite's

Greatest place you can find ever to stay around that area, you will have amazing view of woodland and reservoirs water, facilities are in higher than you could imagine, great, clean, hot water, toilets for man and woman, also showers with toilet in as well, you have access to sink to wash your dishes, two shared fridge if you need keep something cold. Fire pit and logs will highly recommend as will be great and if you don’t use , believe you lost something forever. There are much more but you need to experience by yourself.

We stayed in the swaledale hut for the bank holiday weekend. The location is perfect for those wanting a getaway in the countryside. The hut is well kept, a comfy bed and a hot shower. The free milk includes oat milk (useful for vegans!). We only had one interaction with Richard which was for help with the hob and to pay for fire logs (£10). They decorated the hut for a further £10 which was lovely too. We’ve stayed in shepherd’s huts before where the owner is checking in twice a day so it was lovely that we were left alone! We loved waking up to the sounds of nature and having a dip in the hot tub while looking over the staggering views. Thank you for having us!

The location is great, it's a nice little tucked away camping spot with all the amenities you need, great walking routes nearby as well as locations to visit. Can't really fault it apart from the WiFi, mobile data is very patchy so you depend on the Free WiFi for whatever reason you need it, the WiFi has a habit of dropping/cutting out, doesn't effect the great time there just something to note.
