My first time here. Also my first ever experience in a camper van. The staff were very friendly and helpful when I needed anything. They helped me understand how to hook up the van to the electric supply and then use it the other facilities at the pitch. The toilet/shower block was always clean and tidy. The whole thing felt relaxing and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone experienced or otherwise as a camp and caravan site near Buxton.

Lovely site set in an old quarry. Handy for Solomons tower and 30 to 40 minute walk to town centre. Facilities were good with 1 large amenities block which was clean and well maintained throughout my stay. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Small shop at reception. Pizza van visited site on Friday night followed by fish and chip van on Saturday.

Not sure how to put this. We love the site and the area and have been few times before. But some of the wardens seem to be a little terse lately by shouting at people for catching the grass when trying to pitch. Not every one has motor movers. A little help, rather than shouting would help. We also went earlier in the year and the welcome sign said, "Welcome to Buxton. Keep off the grass"" Nice?

Very good CAMC site with all facilities in quiet location. Good pitchs, most are level for motorhomes/campervans. All serviced. Toilet block very clean and in very good order. Friendly and helpful staff. Only negatives, poor phone and TV reception, guess from location, in old quarry. Although advised as walk into Buxton, it's a steep hill to go up/down, hard work if have if not used to or have difficulty in walking.

Just wonderful! Peaceful and in a superb location in an old quarry site. Pleasant stroll around 40 minutes down through the woods to the Pavilion Park and lake, to soak up all that Buxton has to offer. (We loved Buxton which has plenty of eateries and shops and lots of stunning architecture and the springs of course!) Solomon’s Temple and viewpoint en-route with a slight diversion…just watch the cows if you have a dog! Staff friendly and welcoming. Facilities almost on a par with Lady Margaret’s in Chirk and were clean and tidy at all times of day and night. The site is quite large with a gorgeous sort of hidden area at the far end which is so peaceful overlooking the quarry with a kind of pool area which is fenced off. Wonderful to watch the sun set there in peace and quiet with only a couple of other outfits there. I so wish we had booked another night instead of moving on to Bakewell. We much preferred it here!
