Absolutely love this place. Beautiful surroundings, great little site, kept lovley and clean. A walk away from some beautiful scenery. Nice pub in walking distance. The guy who runs it, Pete is fantastic. Can't wait to get back there.

Cracking little site, we stayed Bank Holiday weekend and had a great time. I misread the rules and thought you could play music until 10pm, no there's no loud music allowed at all. once that was understood the music was turned off. Very polite site manager who couldn't be more helpful. for a stunning off grid camp site it ticks all the boxes, good local shops, cafe and pub(s). We will stay again (if they'll have us).

Great little campsite, as it says ‘no frills’ , fresh water available , porta loos with flush on site and cleaned every morning, grass mown regularly and large bin emptied regularly. Quiet from 10pm - 7am . Gates locked and feel secure . Great guy who runs the site, very friendly and will share the hidden gems of the local area with you ( dog swimming areas and great walk ways ) . Only a 5 mins walk down the canal to Shugborough hall. Some beautiful walks all around . Swans and geese come to the edge of the campsite and appreciate a crumb or 2 of bread . Perfect for watching the canal boats coming and going as it’s a busy waterways junction. Some sell their wares from the boats too. Boat moorings / hire over the other side of canal has a small shop to grab the doggie ice creams from and the Elsa’s point is available to use there too. Canal side cafe/ shop over the road bit pricey . Spar village shop 3 minutes up the road good selection of items in there. Village pub the Clifton , lovely beer garden , dog friendly and food is great , read the description on the sandwiches though as they are huge doorsteps !!! Train does come passed the site but it’s not noticeable after the first couple of times hearing it. There’s a bus stop outside the camp believe it’s the 828 chase service to Lichfield . Cannot recommend this place enough

2 solo tents for 1 night 20-Apr-2024. The setting of the campsite is really stunning. The pitch is small. It was a little wet with droppings but fairly flat. In way of facilities there are some port-a-loos which were clean, with toilet roll and some drinking water. The campsite owner seems relaxed and friendly. The campsite is close to the Clifford arms pub which does some decent food and pints.

Cheap and cheerful. No nonsense campsite with portaloos and water. £7 a night next to canal. No electrical hookups, so bring a solar panel/generator :)
