Couldn't fault the site really but the roads surrounding it are busy and noisy. Staff were helpful. The site is very safe. A bit pricey by the time you've paid the extras like for dogs and a pup tent

Currently staying here with my husband and children. Very happy with the pitch we are staying on close to the park which my girls have been absolutely making the most out of. I was very reluctant to use shower blocks after reading reviews but once I had gone over to see them I was very surprised my husband was very shocked when I come back from the shower to collect the girls to take them for a shower along with myself as I’m very a fussy person when it comes to that but I thought they was fine my girls loved the fact the bathroom was pink. The road don’t really bother us as we just watch telly and fall asleep price is good as it includes electric water. Will be coming back very child friendly.

I had a look around here today with my dog. Staff were very friendly and generous. There's a lovely water feature towards the back end which sounds really peaceful. The permanent blocks and toilets look well maintained and the grounds were exceptional. Lots of nice flowers out the front etc. It looks like there is a lot of space allocated for camping so that's a definite plus. It's near to Colchester Zoo, Colchester City and Stanway shopping area which is brand new. Lovely place to visit and seems like all nationalities enjoy staying here.

We have recently visited this site in our VW camper and just called the site on the off chance they had availability which they did. We were welcomed by very friendly staff, particularly the young lad at reception who gave useful tips for getting out and about on foot. Campsite is very well maintained and pitches were spacious. Toilets look a little out dated but are clean and well stocked. Site is quiet and is only 10 to 15 minutes walk to a lovely pub in Lexton which serves meals until 8.30pm and has a gorgeous beer garden. Only slight downside is there is no shop on the campsite but shops and supermarkets are nearby so not a major problem.

We stayed a couple of nights in April in a campervan - experience was a bit mixed as highlighted in some of the reviews. Positives : nice big pitches, quiet, staff were great and came around proactively to tell us about an interruption to the water. Location is a little outside the town but we figured out the buses pretty easily. Negatives : Toilet blocks need replacing - very dated and not working well. Noise from the road is definitely there but not terrible, however the grass cutting and maintenance sheds for the country park were right opposite our pitch and they start early!! It's never going to be a rural idyll in a park on the edge of town, so it was pretty much what I expected.
