Very nice little site with lovely clean, well kept toilets and showers. I originally thought it was a little expensive at £30 for a one night stay on grass w/o electric, but the owner offered me a hard standing pitch at no extra cost when it came available, which was very good. 5 minute walk to great pub in village is also a bonus. Would have been 5 stars except for neighbour who appeared to be strimming his field for several hours causing loud noise pollution. Tbf, not the owners fault. Would stay again if I was in the area.

Well after reading all the 5 star reviews and paying £37 per night with hook up we were expecting great things. Unfortunately we were somewhat underwhelmed. The site has quite a number of sloping pitches, which in itself isn't too much of an issue, but the pitch we were allocated was barely big enough to take our average sized caravan. The toilet and showers were nice enough so no complaints there. What we did think though, was that, as mentioned, the pitches were not large enough, with not enough room to put a car, van and awning on. The upkeep of the site was not brilliant, there were nettles and weeds around our pitch and I got stung while packing up to leave. The site "road" was made of the very large roadstone which normally has tarmac on top, and there were large stones on the road which wouldn't do your tyres any good. The grey waste disposal point was very poor, your waste water carrier has be lifted and held in place whilst draining. The toilet water was a little better but not much, a bucket lid in the ground, not much thought gone into either of these disposal points. To us it is not a bad site but certainly not a site we came away from thinking we will be back soon. We have stayed at a couple of sites costing similar money and getting fully serviced pitches and hotel quality facilities. In our view the site is not good value for money, sorry.

Very clean and picturesque camp site - quiet and plenty of space. Great washing facilities, and good location for popping into Castle Donington. If you turn left up the little road off the campsite there are some great walks.

Great site with clean toilets and showers. This site would benefit from a proper booking system. We stayed on a fully booked bank holiday weekend and had a grass pitch with no electric hook up. Due to bad weather the site was empty all weekend and no one showed up. The bad weather also caused us to sink leaving us needing towing out. The problem is the owner is relying on friends for this service. We were stuck over two hours before he found someone to tow us out. Do not visit during wet weather.

Secluded quiet campsite with 18 pitches, landscaped areas and a couple of upmarket cabins. 2 unisex shower bathrooms and a private pedestrian entrance . A lovely getaway on the outskirts of Castle Donington, friendly owners and plenty of bird species to spot. Recommended
