Denny wood campsite is a wonderful place as it is a very basic site only drinking water tap and waste disposal. The animals of the New forest are free to roam on site between the tents and caravans. This site has none of the usual park facilities but I rate it one of the best campsites I've ever been to and I've been a number of times over the years

Stayed on Matley Wood campsite which is part of Denny Wood. Dogs are allowed on Matley but not on Denny. Definitely a New Forest gem and we absolutely loved the campsite. We did wonderful walks from both sites and you can walk to Lyndhurst off road as well. Fiona, the manager of both sites, is the most lovely lady. Very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back again and recommend to family and friends

If you can do "off grid" and enjoy the peace of the countryside then this is the place to stay. Great walks and cycle routes in the heart of the New Forest. Staff were friendly and helpful with a small shop and reception. Will definitely be back.

Very nice spot, in pure nature. Wild horses around. Cycling route passing over the campground. We had a lovely 3 night stay, with our 2 children (3 and 5) who really enjoyed a bit of cycling every morning and evening from the campground straight into the woods.

My car unfortunately broke down very near this site, so I called the RAC to attend. They gave me an estimated 6 hour waiting time, and with a dog at home, I could not afford to be that long. I was able to get my car off the road to their car park. And arranged a lift home and alternative recovery. I parked sensibly so it was not in anybody's way and went to the site office to explain my situation. Nobody was there, so called the number on the door and left a message. While waiting for my lift a lady arrived, asking why I was sat outside the office. I explained my situation, but to say her response was rude and unhelpful would be an understatement. I hope this lady doesn't find herself in a situation like mine, having to deal with someone like her in the future. Not a pleasant person.
