Good where I stayed on 4&5/7/24 for my DofE assessment expedition. Good open space to camp on but a very uneven field and I ended up sleeping on my side worrying if my tent will start rolling down the hill(it didn’t and I was at in the section that curves into and near the toilet block. Toilet block needs to be renovated as it doesn’t have many cubicles and is outdated. Very big flat open space for ball games . Overall very good campsite but does need some upgrades. Ps. If you have a small kids there, tell them not to go in to the forest area as they will probably get lost, hurt and swarmed by ants.

Firstly as a scout many years ago I appreciate and endorse the value of such an amazing organisation. It's " leaders" can and must inspire the youth of today more than ever. However....... This evening, 15/3/2023, as on many over the years of owning The Blackwood Arms, the local pub in very close proximity to the Scout camp myself , my wife and a group of locals had the "pleasure" of meeting a leader - mentorer to young impressionable young people. He strutted into our home/ pub without so much as a hello or eye contact to use our toilets and left with similar arrogance. Now let's be clear here, our doors are always open to all and sundry, not a penny needs spending to spend a penny, however to ignore your hosts goodwill and open hospitality is rude, particularly in light of the role this mentor plays to our youth. When he arrived and left he said not a word to my wife my team or myself. I later went outside and spoke with him amongst his group and challenged him, he was aggressive and dismissive. I guess what I'm trying to say is that manners cost nothing, and if this so called leader of our youth is trying to nurture our youth then god help them . ,

This is a Scouts owned site. Join Scouts. as a squirrel, beaver, cub, scout, or as volunteer leader, and as I discovered, Dorney Wood Scout Camp is a wonderful place.

Wow! What great facilities - camping, climbing, abseiling, high ropes, camp fires, pot holing and much more. Kids didn't want to leave. Perfect for school & Scout/Guides groups.
