Absolutely spot on stayed 3 nights clean toilets and showers, free electric, fantastic dog walk about a mile long with spectacular views, Everyone on site polite friendly, definitely worth a visit. Most of the other reviews we haven't had the experience that they mentioned.

Arrived August Bank Holiday after booking 3 pitches to be next to eachother. On arrival it seemed like anyone was expecting us, althought we had paid £270 in full for 3 nights. They tried placing us on concrete and next to a sespit. Very large dogs running loose ,peeing up people's tents. Dirty toilets and shower blocks. Needless to say we didn't even unpack. When we asked for a refund due to it not been as advertised we were told we would have been put together but was our fault for coming late (3pm on a Friday, all straight from work). Never even unpacked, we all left very disappointed after looking forward our well deserved mini camping trip with family. Refund refused as they don't do refunds, so going through our banks. Would never recommend, 1 star is far to generous.

We booked for a service pitch with drainage and water, but this isn't what we ended up with. That said, it was a challenging start to the season. This site has recently been taken over and there is a lot of work in progress. Sadly, as we all know the UK has been a washout for months, so the work hasn't been able to progress as quickly as thought, couple that with the campsite being waterlogged and it was a challenging Easter weekend. Once all of the improvement plans are complete this will be the place to stay near York. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much for them.

Y’know what, I had a great stay despite what many other reviews might say, I was dubious after seeing some of the reviews but I actually couldn’t praise the 2 guys more! The 2 lads that worked here couldn’t have been more helpful getting us unstuck from the mud both arriving and departing. The facilities were clean and warm despite the weather, it was peaceful, just a shame the weather wasn’t better for us!

Booked this weekend to enjoy a great time away for the first time in our new campervan. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. The first night was great, we were met by Rocky who was so helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. After a day in York we went back to the site and were met by 2 men who approached us and told us we had parked wrong and was told to move, which we did but ended up ontop of another van with an awning and these guys parked exactly where we had been told to park. We at this point decided we did not feel comfortable to stay and decided to leave. It really has spoiled our weekend and our first experience with a campervan. The clientele on the site leaves a lot to be desired and we will not be returning. We definitely would not recommend it. Its such a shame because the site could be made beautiful and the old railway station has massive potential.
