We were lucky with the weather camping in a small 2 man tent . Well thought out site with plenty of natural space. Highlight was the amazing shower and toilet block. Immaculately clean, plenty of space lovely softened water. There was a small fridge for use too. Also the booking in was easy and we were greeted on arrival and allowed to choose our space, friendly owners. Recommend this site

Couldn't fault this lovely site. Just returned from a 5 night stay in our campervan at Madhatters campsite and what a great experience it was. Great communications from the beginning, Brian met us on site and gave us the lowdown on what was where etc. and we quickly got set up on a nice level electric grass pitch. Met the wardens the next day, Lesley & Bob and you couldn't meet a nicer couple. Very friendly and helpful, checked in on us regularly to make sure all was ok and we even joined them for a game of cards on our last evening ! Lovely site with excellent clean facilities, lovely hot showers and it's great to see the importance that they place on their recycling program. Lovely countryside spot with hedgerows and wildflower meadow areas, a well managed nature based campsite and just perfect for us. Had their homemade pizzas on Friday night - delicious ! Shops a short cycle ride or drive to Littleport with plenty of takeaways and convenience shops and beautiful Ely in the opposite direction. We were originally only stopping for 3 nights but changed our plans beforehand and stopped for 5 and we were so glad that we did. Definitely top of our list for East of England locations. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

A truly remarkable and unique place to stay. We stayed in a timber tent on site. Check in was easy going and we felt well looked after and catered for. The tent it's self is snug and charming with more facilities than one night expect including tableware, cutlery, fridge, kitchen sink with hot and cold water and a log burner. Beds are super comfy too! During the evening, the weather was good and we were able to make use of our own private fire pit with logs purchased for a small fee from reception. This was lovely, largely due to having our own little fenced off area which baffles the noise from neighbouring camps and presumably baffles ours from them. The wash and toilet facilities are a very short walk away and are modern, clean, and well kept with multiple separate shower rooms, one bath (for little ones) and clean gendered toilets. I would like to emphasise the CLEAN aspect as they were very clean! All in all the facilities and site have exceeded my expectations and I feel they are great value (I've definitely paid more for less). We will definitely be returning.

What an amazing place! We were 2 adults and 3 kids staying in one of the timber tents and we just couldn't fault it. The tent contained everything we could possibly need and is set in the most beautiful surroundings. The bathrooms are kept spotless and the site was nice and safe so the kids could happily ride their bikes around all day long! We'll definitely be returning.

Just back from a great camping trip at the Madhatters. Campsite was clean, lots of space on our pitch with electric, wardens were really friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were brilliant, especially the family bathrooms. loved the view of the cathedral from the campsite. We walked into Ely: pretty walk but 75 minutes in from the campsite. Campsite was very rural, just what we were after and only a short drive into town and Ely had everything we needed!
