A truly magical place. I’ve wanted to visit the New Forest for sometime, we picked Matley last minute for safe stay on the day we launched to live full-time in our camper. This place was exactly what we were looking for. After checking in down the road at Denny’s (which is mentioned in the email supplied after booking) you are pretty much left to it which personally I prefer. The lack of facilities onsite adds to overall experience, with no one taking trips to a WC there’s less foot traffic round site in the evenings and the result is a quieter more serene environment. We liked that pitches aren’t marked and you can park where suits you (within reason). The walks are nice and we even found a rope swing in a clearing. We will be back as soon as possible.

Love it here. Keep coming back. Nice secluded plots, just over half hour walk to Lyndhurst along wide track away from road. Can walk in pine forests, oak forests, silver Birch woods, bogs and heathland. 15 minute drive to main supermarkets at Dibden. Very amicable, helpful site managers. Very well kept site with fresh water and waste facilities. Donkeys, Ponies, Deer, bats and birds even a big dragonfly keep us amused while relaxing by our van during the day and night. Not forgetting spectacular sunsets.

Accommodated us last minute on a Sunday night over the Bank Holiday after we were let down elsewhere. SAVIOURS! :) Spacious level grass. Trees, New Forest ponies and great walks straight out of the site. Will be sure to return :)
