Second time we’ve camped here and we absolutely love it! Love that you can choose where to pitch and there’s lots of space. Great facilities and they are always clean. Brilliant play area & games for the kids - bring a bucket and spade! We loved playing table tennis as the sun was setting! The shop/reception is good too and staff are friendly The activities are great too, this time we did paddle boarding and tobogganing and last time we did the frisbee golf & archery. The instructors are always friendly & knowledgeable plus patient with our kids - special mention to Emily who taught us paddle boarding this time, she was so brilliant with our kids who had never tried it before and needed a lot of help! We’ll be back again, hopefully next year! Thank you Mendip!

Absolutely loved our first camping trip as a family at Basecamp Mendip. The Pavilion is excellent and has almost everything you can think of that would be needed for camping - the breakfast rolls were amazing and we loved getting a pizza on our first night here. The fire pits are great to hire and a really clever idea to repurpose a washing machine drum and a lovely way to spend the evening. We stayed in one of the Nomadic Bell Tents and it was perfect for us as we were giving camping a try before we bought all the stuff for ourselves..the camp mats are as comfy as a camp mat can be. Due to the very wet weather on our arrival the grass under the tent became a bit squelchy in places but it didn't bother us and didn't affect our stay. The tent also has a little mould developing, however, that cannot be helped with the weather we have been having and just needs a clean. Would still stay in the tent again! We all loved Frisbee golf and my 3 boys absolutely loved tobogganing down at the activity center. There was so much more to explore, we just ran out of time!! Overall, I would highly recommend Basecamp Mendip and we will be returning next Summer! Thank you for such a great weekend.

Wonderful location for family camping. Facilities are great. Well run site. Friendly staff. Lots to do on site. Happy kids throughout. Shop/pavilion is so good its an entertainment location! Shop's fridge is very cold so the Thatchers cider and lager are extra refreshing. Our group is keen to return.

We have had the best time and will be back again for sure. The facilities are amazing and always very clean. I’m not a confident camper but they make everything so easy! The activities for the kids are great and the instructors are brilliant, they know exactly how to work with a bunch of kids! Thanks so much for a great holiday!

Basecamp is a well set up and well run campsite. We camped so cannot review the indoor accommodation. The facilities are well maintained, lots of space and great social areas for all ages (e.g. play area, cafe area, indoor play space for little ones). All the staff we interacted with were friendly, good at their jobs and ready to help. I would recommend this for all ages and the atmosphere is relaxed and positive around the site.
