Lovely little honeypot of a place. Still undergoing new ownership changes and improvements. Limited showers and toilet facilities but beautifully clean. Large plots carefully planned for privacy. Within walking distance of Chester along the canal if you are fit but accessible by public transport via a short walk. Site warden, Kevin, welcoming and helpful on arrival. We initially booked for 2 nights but stayed an extra 1 rather than look for something else along our planned holiday route. It was so nice. Children and dog friendly. Close to a lovely pub on the canal serving lovely food but you may need to book. Another pub serving food very close on the main road but we didn't try. Has good reviews though. Some older and negative reviews on the website should be disregarded. This is a lovely site

We love this site, the location is great and it has access straight onto the canal path. Great for a dog walk. It's about an hour into the town centre. We loved the market food hall right in the centre that allows dogs, has lots of food options and some nice beer. We also walked the other way, away from town, that was picturesque too. The site is well run, Kevin the caretaker keeps the site looking beautiful and is friendly and efficient. There are two loos and one shower each for gents and ladies and though not many I didn't have to queue all weekend. We will definitely be back next year.

Great little campsite. Clean and very spacious pitches. Warden was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Came and checked on everybody a few times during stay. Just over an hours walk to Chester City centre along the canal. The only issue I had was there is only 1 shower, one sink, and no hot water at the sink. I brushed my teeth while running water to get it warm, but it just didn't happen. Same for washing up area, not much hot water. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Beautiful campsite, with hook ups, within easy access to Chester, which is about a 60 minute walk along by the Canal, you can also walk in via the main road, which has a pavement. The site itself has chemical waste facility and there is a shower (no additional charge) and loos in both the Gents and Ladies blocks. There are no additional facilities on site but there are plenty in easy walking distance, including a garage that stocks basic groceries, 5 minutes from the campsite.

What a delightful site so close to Chester and right beside a canal. We only stayed for 1 night but will definitely be back in the future for longer. From the welcome on arrival we knew all would be well. The welcome leaflet was extremely useful, as was the use of QR codes for information. The pitches are spacious and, after a very stormy night, were clearly well-drained. The site has private access to the canal towpath and we used this to cycle with our two grandchildren into Chester. (Lots of locks to keep them interested.) Much to the latter’s delight there was play equipment, including balls, and a goal for them to use, facilities lacking on so many sites. The sanitation area was small but very clean. The site manager told us the new owners have plans to make further improvements and enhancements. On this occasion we did not have time to visit any of the local recommended eating places.
