We stayed here last weekend for a relatives birthday. The location is lovely and the people running it were helpful but not too invasive. The downside was the fact there were rats running around. We think this is because of the free roaming chickens and ducks on the site. Although seeing the chickens and ducks was nice it wasn’t ideal when we were cooking and eating to have them wandering around as they were trying to steal our food etc. The fact there isn’t a shower is fine but the toilet block needs maintaining as it’s starting to rot and also when you flush the toilets the water leaks out of the bottom of the unit into the toilet block. I understand that you only charge £10 per person but even if you upped it to £25 you could afford to maintain it better and it would appeal to more people and still be reasonably priced.

Just stayed the weekend at Norcott orchard campsite, enjoyed camping here in the beautiful orchard and idyllic countryside. Jules the owner was friendly and laid back, we had a tent stove, but also used the fire pits provided, you have to bring your own wood to burn which is fine, Norcott is a small back to basics rustic campsite, if you want all the commercial trappings this is not for you! Having said that the toilet block could probably do with a bit of upgrading, it’s a pity there aren’t more campsites like this around, will definitely return, thanks again jules.

I spent a night in the Orchard Campsite on my first bikepacking trip of the year. Jules the owner is very friendly and helpful and I had all I needed. There's a toilet block with hot water, no showers though. It's quiet and charming there's even a duck pond! One of the greatest features is the location only 5 minutes from the edge of Ashridge Estate. I'll definitely be back in the summer
