Stayed for a night as visiting family and very happy with everything. Check in was easy and smooth just as check out. Room was lovely and clean and fresh and even better that we loved it but so did our 2 dogs and it's unusual for them to settle and relax and they did just that. Great location easy to find and get to and from. Looking forward to staying again soon and would highly recommend.

Basic!!! 2 stars at best! 😬 Really poor quality bedding and curtains, pillows as flat as pancakes! Cheap fittings (tv, kettle, mugs etc) LOTS of dust on chair back, skirting boards and along tops of tiles in bathroom. Doors were dirty. Floors not been swept, nevermind mopped. No full length mirror. Loo roll, soap and hair/body gel not topped up upon arrival (see pics). Clicky electricity meter in the bathroom. Bed was extremely uncomfortable!! Farm is situated on a main road so can hear traffic all the time. Very noisy upstairs guests (telly on exceptionally loud, overly loud conversation- shouting at times; and paper-thin creaky floors, so could hear every single movement! Up and down the stairs getting on for 11pm, which in turn caused the hallway light to come on and off repeatedly - VERY frustrating when you're trying to sleep and the door to The Parlour (name of onsite accommodation) is part frosted glass! The lock on their door was possibly the noisiest I've ever heard. They had absolutely no consideration for other guests! - I appreciate Hosts have no control over other guests behaviour (noisy telly, conversation etc) However, the timer of the hallway light, frosted glass on The Parlour door; and flooring/ceiling really ought to be looked into and improved, as this did not help with what was already a disappointing stay. Overall, space was done to a poor standard, didn't feel clean, fresh or welcoming at all. (Though, I must say hosts were very welcoming and very eager upon arrival) Not ideal after a long day and over a two hour journey to begin with. Shan't be booking again which is unfortunate as was rather looking forward to my stay, has potential to be a lovely accommodation setting. But improvements must be made. Chester is one of my favourite places to visit, but was really disappointed and underwhelmed by Oakwood Farm. Will be finding other accommodation for my next visit. Please note, I would have raised the above with the hosts/owner upon checkout, but they weren't there, the office wasn't open either.

Booked two nights stayed one. As had no sleep and bedding not pleasant. Definitely not luxury mews accommodation. Unfortunately the person downstairs was extremely noisy, shouting, singing, talking so loudly for hours non stop. Until past 3.30am. So the room definitely has no sound proofing. The bedding had black marks, blood on pillow, the duvet, pillows and mattress saver had huge yellow marks. The shower wasn't clean. We tried to get a refund but nothing has been given. We had stayed 5 years ago and it was nice shame it was such a bad experience this time. Review would be the same even had we received a refund.

Stayed here on a number of occasions now and never had a problem, lovely clean and comfy rooms, super easy check in and out love the fact I am sent an email with room number and details to make it super easy for me and means I'm not time limited to check in. Always have a pleasant and happy stay and will continue to book rooms here when needed. 5*
