Important Tips and Considerations:
- Be prepared for some road noise due to its convenient location with strong transport links. However, this is often outweighed by easy access to local attractions.
- While the toilet and shower facilities are generally clean and new ones are being added, some guests feel they could benefit from a deep clean.
- If privacy is a concern, especially for tent campers, consider the site layout when booking your pitch.
- The on-site café is praised for its delightful breakfast offerings, a must-try during your stay.
Overall Thoughts:
Oakwood Farm Touring Park is a solid choice for campers, particularly those traveling in vehicles or groups that provide more soundproofing. The friendly staff and well-maintained grounds contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. While there are minor inconveniences related to noise and some facility concerns, the park is generally well-received for its service and accessibility to key regional sites. It's a great base for exploring the local area with convenience of food delivery services such as Just Eat and Deliveroo.

We stayed here over the weekend and really enjoyed it. The road is noisy but that's to be expected and to be honest it didn't impact our sleep and our toddler didn't mind. New shower blocks are being developed which is good and Just Eat and Deliveroo also deliver to the site. It's a secure site which gave us piece of mind especially having a small person with us. Nice, spacious tent pitches and the grounds are very clean. Would definitely return as its central to so many different places of interest.

Great location with good transport links and easy access to Chester and North Wales, but does suffer with road noise as a result. However saying this, it didn’t bother us too much. The site is well maintained with good sized hard standing, fully serviced pitches around an outer circle and grass on the inner for tent and other units. As with other comments although clean enough, the toilets feel like they are in need of a really deep clean to give them that sparkle. Also on site are a number of small units and a great little cafe that does a cracking breakfast.

First, I'd like to say that the staff were lovely, no doubt, and this review is from the perspective of a camper, not someone with a campervan or caravan. So, with that said, the site is simply overpriced for what it is. We booked through pitch up, which didn't show the site for what it is. We would have been fish in a fish bowl as the campers have the pitch right in the center of the site surrounded by everyone else. The 2 A roads next to the site are very busy and the a494 is basically a motorway labelled as an a road. The site is right next to the slip roads as well. The exit is a very precarious situation as there is no visibility for traffic approaching from the right at the national speed limit. The A540 is travelled by heavy goods vehicles and farm traffic and is very busy in itself. Facilities were not worth 25 pounds per night although new facilities were due to be opened soon we didn't see inside to comment. My partner and I didn't feel that we were getting what we had paid for and knew we couldn't relax here and so we packed up and left. We paid upfront, so we lost our 50 pounds. So as i said at the start. We are campers, so if you have soundproofing and your own facilities and more privacy, you will likely enjoy the site more, but for us it didn't work.

On first arrival all looked good very pretty courtyard keys was in a lock box so no hassle, got in side looked great and modern but when I went Into the bathroom it had water damage on the wall, used the shower ended up with the floor outside the bathroom with a big puddle of water had nothing to clear it up with so had to use towels, put me of using it again in the morning, my partner is disabled and i was worried about him slipping. They also advised rooms with smart TV but there not couldn't connect to them. For the money it should be perfect no problems, I told the reception lady in the morning about the room hoping to get some of my money back but all she said was they are having problems because of the rain, they shouldn't be renting it out until they sort the problem in my opinion. Only good things about the property was the bed and wifi, pubs stop serving food early so fill yourself up before you go as nothing nearby, taxi are a rip of £7 for 2 mile drive. Unfortunately I won't be going back.
