Such a stunning place, in a prime location, so close to York. We have just returned from a long weekend, stopping here in our touring caravan. The site is extremely peaceful, the occasional moo from the suckler cows was blissful. Flat, open pitches and an immaculately clean site. The owners are incredibly friendly, we walked our 2 x spaniels round the lake and felt completely at ease and at home here. A highly recommended site, if your looking for peace, tranquillity and beauty, this was just the RR we needed.

We stayed for a weekend in one of the Shepard's hut. Beautiful scenery all around. The hut was well equipped with everything you need and put together lovely. Sam was very friendly and welcoming. Helped take our luggage to the hut when turned up. Highly recommend

It's with a very sad heart that I need to write this review about the Old pastures Park we have used this for sometime now we booked for a fortnight stay as we only normally stay for a week but come the end of the week we both felt we were sad to leave so decided to book the fortnight then on our second week we got very dishearten as we had a caravan pitched next to ours they arrived at 8.30 at night pitch black he was using his head lights so that was shining in other people's windows plus they then decided it would be escapable to put a air awning up at 9pm which was very inconsiderate to others on the site I was very annoyed so I went and said excuses me do you have to do that this time of night the Women was very rude and told me am putting my awning up regardless. I then said could you not do it tomorrow that way you will not be disturbing anyone else it's just polite anyway she was very determined to upset everyone on the site,so I phone Sam as I thought it would be the best thing to do he came to the site quickly to find out what was going on he did have a chat with them I don't know what was said but Sam did knock on our door and told us that could you possibly just put up with it until they get the awning. We did say to Sam surely the must be a cut of point of people making a noise on a site but we was told by Sam he can't really in enforce it but as he is the owner he must have some say as we don't think its a nice way to be not looking after your other customers and regulars I may add Sam did wait about for a while but twice they used the pump again they also was banging in the guide ropes slamming the van doors just not having any thought for others we said surely this shouldn't be right for other campers we think to be honest Sam needs to be more assertive and make a rule stating the times that people shouldn't be making a noise they finally went quite at 10.30 at night we didn't feel satisfied that Sam had dealt with the problem at all so because of that we have decided not to return back to our favorite site which am very upset to say but it is what it is I should add that Sam did offer a nights money back but it wasn't about the money we would have preferred Sam to have dealt with the matter in a better way we felt that Sam never believed half of what we had said that to me was quite sad as we have always got on well with Sam Donna & Pete Harrison Donna & Pete Harrison

This place was exceptional very friendly and a lovely place to wake up in the mornings especially with a lake side view everything was really nice and owners couldn’t have been accommodating
