Good idea - love the wild camping aspect of the woods. However, I would not recommend staying in the wooded section - go for the grass pitches. It had been hammering it down with rain when we arrived and our area was flooded. Had to make do and it's potentially ruined our tent for the rest of our camping. I understand it's meant to be wild camping BUT the camping area should at least be suitable for all weather. You can't rent out pitches that are completely unsuitable. All it needs is a raised area - simple. Doesn't need to be artificial, use mud to keep in with the aesthetic. Campsite overall was okay. Compared to other campsites this just seems like the forestry commission/government taking in a bit of money for not a lot. Did not think this was good value for money.

Very basic campsite for tents- provides toilets, sink and drinking water. All very clean and quiet. Exactly what we wanted. A good price for a family.

Lovely spot and very friendly ranger on site. Cheap to stay but you can only stay up to 3 nights. Has drinking water on tap and long drop private toilets that are very well maintained. Midges are a big problem so spray and head net are essential. Car parking available on site. No alcohol permitted. You can also purchase firewood and a fire pit for a reasonable price. The West Highland Way hike passes straight through this campsite. Aside from the midges you won't be disappointed.

This is a government forestry governed campsite on the east side of Loch Lomond. It’s designed to be eco friendly so there are compostable toilets, there is a sink for washing dishes and brushing teeth etc. There are no showers. What you do get instead, is a well looked after site. The pitches are generous sized so you do not feel too close to other campers. This prevents over crowding, too much noise and just makes the experience much more pleasant and helps create a serene atmosphere. The beach views and forest cover with the option to hire fire pits with a generous amount of wood, makes this place an idyllic spot for individuals, couples and families. We were throughly impressed. You do need a car to access local supermarkets or restaurants as it’s quite a remote area (unless you are a very fit hiker!)

Absolutely loved it! Campsite is very simple with only compost toilet and dish washing sink/drinking water tap, as was expected. But oh the location, the beautiful pebbled beach and the tent pitch under the old trees!
