About This Campsite
The Camp At The Wave offers a unique camping experience, primarily targeting those who love to surf. Situated conveniently next to a wave pool, this campsite is ideal for those seeking adventure and convenience in a picturesque setting.
For those who appreciate ease and amenities, staying on-site provides seamless access to surfing sessions, as noted by some positive experiences. Guests have remarked positively on the availability of high-quality food and drink, the setup of accommodations, and the friendly service provided by the staff. The camp is also known for being accessible and accommodating, making it a potential spot for families and individuals with disabilities.
However, some visitors have experienced significant discomfort, particularly due to inadequate heating in tents and cabins during cold nights. Additionally, certain amenities appear to be under construction or not up to par, potentially affecting the overall comfort and cleanliness. Guests have also reported issues with responsiveness from the staff regarding complaints and found it challenging to get compensation or resolution for concerns raised.
Overall, while The Camp At The Wave has received praise for its location and integration with surfing activities, potential visitors should consider both the pros and cons highlighted in past reviews. Ensuring that the camp meets their specific comfort and service expectations will be essential for a positive stay.

Not Quite as Advertised – Uncomfortable, Cold and Lacking Basic Amenities - Poor Value for Money. We ended up checking out early after just one night due to an uncomfortable experience and finding much better accommodation elsewhere, despite paying est. €100 per night here. The property is marketed as a warm and cozy glamping experience, but unfortunately, it did not live up to these expectations: - Unheated Tent: The tent was non-insulated and freezing cold, far from the cozy atmosphere advertised. Despite having a stove, it did little to warm the space, serving more as a decorative feature. The bedding provided—thin duvets—was inadequate for such cold conditions. Even wearing multiple layers, including long underwear, socks, and a wool hat, I was still cold throughout the night. Inadequate Amenities: We found additional issues with the facilities. The pit latrine was malfunctioning, there were no towels provided, and the main WC/shower area was under construction. The few available replacement facilities were not clean and far below the expected standard. Lack of Response from Staff: When we addressed our concerns with the staff the next morning, there was no effort to offer any form of compensation or solution. The staff seemed to be aware that this is not the first time this happened and the general manager was unwilling to react to the issues or meet us halfway. As a result, we had to leave early and book a hotel nearby, doubling our expenses. Given the experience, I would recommend exploring alternative accommodations in the area before booking here.

I live in London and came for my birthday at the wave very nice scenery and very nice people highly recommend to friends and family who suffer from any disabilities as they are so friendly and very caring . The camp site is very quiet and can hear the water waves at night time. These guys do amazing job for the people out side of Bristol and people who need a holiday . They sell high quality food and drink that is homemade. Very nice place with a perfect country side view and very spacious view where you can meet new people from different backgrounds. They are very good and provide an excellent service that never lets the customers down and they show how to work the appliances and any issues they sort it with in minutes . Even though it was a lot of money it was worth every penny and time they’re very refreshing for customers and provide an excellent children environment for kids to enjoy for the whole family. Keep up the good work people at the wave hope to see you guys soon on my return. 100000% Recommend to others ……❤️❤️😂🥰🥰

You absolutely cannot knock this. Well priced for what you get (and for 6 people). The ease of staying on site for surf is spot on. The food/ accommodation/ shop/ surf combo means everything is on hand. Hot showers, good tent, stove + games to borrow

Disappointing Stay – Poor Value for Money We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this camp. Despite paying over £100 per night, the experience was far below acceptable standards. Freezing Cold at Night The cabin’s stove barely provided any heat, and the bedrooms remained freezing cold throughout the night. Broken and Dirty Facilities The toilet in our cabin was broken. In addition, the communal showers and toilets were filthy and clearly not well-maintained. Most of the communal showers were under construction, leaving very few available for use. No Refund, Forced to Leave Early We ended up having to book another hotel due to the conditions. Despite our complaints, we were unable to get a refund from the camp. This left us feeling cheated and disappointed with their lack of customer care.

The camp is located literally next to the wave pool, which made it super easy getting to your sessions throughout the day. The tent was really spacious and had everything you would need for a weekend away with friends or kids. Plus the log burner kept us all warm all night and made it super cosy.
