The receptionist that checked us in was lovely. Hope you enjoyed your birthday! Breakfast was good and there was plenty to go around. Staff are helpful. Cleaning staff need to be a bit more thorough when cleaning. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to going back once the refurb is completed.

The rooms are basic but very clean. The breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and were constantly clearing tables and replenishing the food. Lost two stars because of the evening meal, it was shocking. The food was low quality, cold and tasteless. When I complained the lady just smiled and walked off, twice. Would stay again but give the evening meal a miss.

Location for the zoo was fantastic, even let us leave our car in their car park so could just walk across the road. The manager who checked us in when arrived bank holiday Monday was wonderful and why I've gone for 4 stars rather than 3, it's ashame her colleagues in the morning let the side down. In morning for breakfast no1 around to tick us off, 3 of then stood around talking I had to interrupt to ask them to tick room. And when checking out couldn't find anyone to ask a question, was the male cleaner who helped. On existing saw all 3 outside having a cigarette. Rooms were nice and clean, breakfast pretty standard.

At time of stay maintenance work was being carried out Room we stayed in was dirty and really smelt of smoke had to sleep with window open all night so not mych sleep at all night staff was unhelpful with the smell and morning staff were just as bad we were not offered another room at all Breakfast was pitiful and barely warm and unappealing to eat.

This travel lodge had everything we needed. Clean comfortable and friendly helpful staff. And easy free parking.very Close to the places we wanted to visit and places to eat. I would definitely recommend .
