The Victoria Recreation Ground in Tilehurst is a large open park space that is a favourite with dog walkers and football teams. A generally well maintained recreation ground. Some old derelict features around the periphery like most grounds like these have. Dog walkers are quite mindful so not too much dog waste around. There are bins as well so if you do take your pooch for a walk be respectful to others. Surrounded on one side by some very large lime trees.

A good park to go and have a walk, play football and do some exercise. However, you do need to check the grass as some dog owners do not seem to be clearing up after their dogs. I went the other day with my children to play football and found 3 piles on the grass. Marked them with a stick so we knew where not to go near. It's shame, but if you're likely to step in something in a communal park then you're not likely to go to it.

Wide open space, fairly flat and featureless. Used a lot by dog walkers, only really gets busy when there's football on or a fête. Benches are all in a state of disrepair.

Grass needs cutting and people need to clean up after their dogs 🐕. It was hard to see the lines on the football pitch as the leaves should not have been painted on but picked up before marking the football pitch.

Simple garden, we go for daughter's football sessions. Good bus connectivity. Wish there are public toilets here too.
