Woodlands Caravan Park receives praise for its cleanliness and the friendly nature of its staff. Facilities are considered slightly dated by some, yet they are consistently clean and the site features all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, including ample laundry services. One thing to note is that, based on recent experiences, the atmosphere may have shifted under new management. Some guests express nostalgias for the previously family-oriented ambiance, pointing out newer rules may feel restrictive, especially for families with younger children. Despite this, the site continues to be appreciated for its tranquility and excellent upkeep, with comfortable pitches available on either hard standing or grass. Tips for Future Visitors: - Enjoy the peaceful park adjacent to the site, perfect for leisurely walks and exploration. - Be mindful of the site rules, particularly relating to the use of bicycles and scooters, to ensure a harmonious stay. - Take advantage of the park's convenient location for quick excursions into town or trips via the local train service. Overall Thoughts: Woodlands Caravan Park remains a beloved spot for tourers, with its clean environment and proximity to beautiful town attractions. While changes with new management have altered the feel for some, it continues to be a well-kept destination for visitors seeking serenity and tidiness. Whether you're exploring the local area or simply enjoying quiet time at the park, Woodlands Caravan offers a comfortable and pleasant experience.Photos

A lovely well maintained site within walking distance of the town and seafront. A very friendly welcome, dated but very clean facilities and reasonably priced laundry facilities (even tea, coffee etc for campers). Access to the adjacent park, lovely for walking the dogs, and not far from the town and famous golf course, which you can wander around.

We have visited this site 5-10 times over the past 2 years and have often recommended it to friends and family. This really was one of nicest sites in Scotland that we‘ve been to and would often go to for a weekend away. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children (aged 2; 5: and 7)) and have always found the site to be family friendly and spotless. I understand however, that new owners have taken over and from our experience, it just isn’t the same site we had come to enjoy. The site itself has a tarmac road that goes round in a circle; visible from all pitches. There is no play park on site and the one just outside of the park grounds is currently closed for refurbishment (not the fault of the owners), which may have made things worse. Upon arrival at the site, we were setting the caravan up and our kids went on their bikes (as the have done for every other visit) and cycled around the very quiet road. To be clear, our daughter (2yrs) was on her balance bike and her older brothers were going around with her, so not going very fast or making a lot of noise (6pm’ish). Our children came back to the van to advise “the lady told us that were not allowed on our bikes in the caravan site” and proceeded to hand over the rules of the site, highlighting that children are not permitted to ride bikes or scooters in the park itself. For the rest of our weekend away (first trip in our new caravan), the children were scared to play in the site or even walk their bikes to the field outside of the park in fear of being told off by “the lady”. The whole feel of the site has changed and clearly the new owners want to have another adult only site, which is really disappointing, given how family orientated it was before. I grew up going on caravan holidays with my family - it’s a shame that these owners seem to be buying up the good sites and turning families away. On the positive side: - the site is still kept very clean - the site is still very quiet - the toilets and showers are very clean, albeit the showers are in need of an update and upgrade (showers and shower curtains outdated and very poor water pressure) I’m sorry to say that I just don’t know if we would go back - a real loss!

I used to go often to this site with the wee guy Billy as warden/owner,so I phoned to book for 3 nights and was answered by a very forthright tone and told that Billy had passed away(very sorry and taken aback by news)I am posting this to the lady who answered to suggest to her to change her attitude as her caustic demeanour has put me off ever booking. My money is good anywhere so her rules regulations and phone attitude will not do her business venture any good whatsoever.!!

A great well kept site with good sized pitches mostly serviced wether on hard standing or grass. Excellent services modern and immaculate. Situated on the outskirts of Carnoustie there is a large park reached by a gate at the bottom of the site and from there lots of alleyways to follow into the town or the beach and the famous Carnoustie golf course.

A wonderfully well-kept caravan site for tourers in a quiet location. The town is about ten minutes' walk away with excellent train connections to Dundee, Aberdeen and beyond. The park is immaculately maintained with a lot of work going into the plants and the toilets were spacious and clean. Well worth 5/5
