Lovely hostel with great staff and as a YHA member having visited many hostels in recent years can say this is up there with the best. The only let down is the price, particularly the beer. £6.25 for a bottle of ale is, in my opinion, far too excessive to be justified which leaves a sour taste having had an otherwise excellent visit.

We were camping. What a wonderful place, and unbelievably affordable. Peaceful, beautiful views, and the campsite is uncrowded and perfect. There's a pond and plenty of greenery, and we brought a little portable fire pit and had a barbeque. There are picnic tables, and a cafe inside. Access to the kitchen and proper toilets made for a stress-free camping experience. We did a 2 hour walk down to shoreham, had a swim and a pub lunch, then caught an easy bus back. Cannot recommend enough.

Only rating 3 out of 5 as I haven't ever stayed here. I've gone past it hundreds if not thousands of times. I don't live too far away. This resides on the South Downs Way. It is at the top of a hill. The tarmac road stops shortly before getting here. The views from 100 or so feet at the top you can see over to Brighton and beyond. The other side, you can see the North Downs some 30+ miles away. Can get busy. There is (never looked) a drinking point being in the SDW outside. The car park is fairly small. Gravel / rocks. At the top of the hill there are some 5/6 houses, farm and aerial station. The aerial station sits on and uses an old WW2 dug and covered bunker - you won't know this from looking at it. There is a pillar box in the field which you can see from the path, can't get to it as it's on a farmers land - no foot path. The Postal is just one part of the area being reviewed at the request of Google

location beautiful. setup fine. Manageress quite abrupt and rude. Unfriendly manner and really not what you expect. She definitely spoilt the vibe for us and other guests moaning about her. morning staff were nice though.

Recently stayed for a night in one of the safari tents. Staff were really helpful and polite. Hostel was well equipped and clean. The safari tent was set up really well and was comfortable for the 5 of us. Highly recommend for a stay. We will be back!
