What a wonderful find just off the A64. Staff are very welcoming and very attentive to individual needs. Directions and allocations were of the highest order. There is availability for camping, caravans and Motorhomes alike. All of the pitches were in very good condition with ehu if required. One central block for facilities which is huge inside. Offering showers, toileting, dish washing facilities and chemical toilet empty point. For individuals who do not wish to drive into York a bus service is available. Option 1: walk along the road to Monks Cross shopping centre and get the park and ride ( No.9). Please note there are no paths available along the roads and you will have to walk in the cycle lane. A torch is definitely recommend. Option 2: walk towards the Toby Carvery and take the left turning just before. Walk to end of road and walk to right about 100m on left hand side is a bus stop. The 840 and 843 both pass this stop and will take you into York (still using £2 per ticket) . Both buses travel through to Leeds city center. And the returning 840 goes towards Whitby and the 843 to Scarborough. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be returning.

We have used this site when visiting local family 4 times. Always clean, well kept up, good shower/ loo facilities. Disabled shower excellent as spacious, cleaned immaculately. Hand rails, seats in all right positions making transfer from wheelchair to both loo & shower seat easy, even a paraplegic with strong arms could manage alone. Highly recommended 👌. Can't fault in anyway. Iv been to many caravan/RV sites in club , also private in UK & Europe, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland , Portugal. Many from Lands End, to Wales, England & Scotland so feel well suited as a wheel chair user to judge sites. Beechwood is a busy, yet quiet site suitable for all ages. Any rowdiness after 10.30pm is quickly dealt effectively. It's a safe feeling site also.

Lovely quiet site. All pitches have water as a minimum which is a rarity. Check-in was swift with nice big pitches with plenty of space between pitches. Nice little park for children. Only negative would be the nettles around the rear of the caravan / water tap

Absolutely fantastic experience here. Lovely owners, putting garden toys out for the children. Kids park is immaculate, playing field, dog walking field, toilet block all clean and well cared for. My brother came to visit us for the day and they were very welcoming. Fantastic things to see and do within a short drive away. Park and ride was worth it and pig farm up the road is perfect for the family. Wish you the bet of luck with your first season there. Xxx

Nice camp ground with Nice amenities. Lovely and clean and well maintained. Little Park was nice but a bit too big for my 3yr old to play on too properly. Little dog run area too. It had a few spots for fresh and waste water and a waste disposal. The toilet/shower block was lovely and the family room with a bath and shower was brilliant. Lots of space and really warm. Only thing knocking it down was the little shop on site didn't have much and if you ran out of anything eg gas they didn't have any to replenish what you need.
